True revenue

Size the advance on sales, not deposits

Gross deposits carry transfers, owner money and loan proceeds. Underly takes them out and lists every exclusion with its transactions, so you can check each dollar that didn't count.

How it works

What comes out of deposits

Transfers
Money moved in from the merchant's own accounts.
Owner and related parties
Deposits from the owner and from related people or businesses.
Debt proceeds
Funding from MCAs, loans, leases, BNPL, factoring and other debt, so an advance never counts as sales.
Reversals, returns and interest
Reversed credits, returned items and bank interest.
Large deposits
A deposit worth 20% or more of an average month's true revenue is marked unverified. It stays in true revenue and is shown beside the total for you to check.
By month and in total
True revenue for each month, the whole file and an average month, with a bridge from gross deposits that has one line per exclusion.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I change what counts as revenue?

Yes. Relabel a deposit and true revenue recalculates. Changing whether a transaction counts asks for a reason, so the change is on record.

Are large one-off deposits taken out?

No. They stay in true revenue and are marked unverified, so you decide whether they belong.

How is the average month worked out?

Total true revenue is scaled to an average-length month across the days the statements cover, so a partial month doesn't drag it down.

Does it handle several accounts?

Yes. Put every account in one analysis. Money moving between them is labelled a transfer and left out.
